This is a long one, folks. Again, I really wish they'd quit trying to be cute and just give us the list instead of going one at a time, but the character bios on this one are pretty sweet. Awesome find, Trashy. Keep us posted on the next part. This should keep me going for a while, so I'll post my usual "WHAT? Only number 30" style rants later. But anything that starts with MODOK and then Fing Fang Foom, surely the worst name of anything, ever, is OK by me. EDIT - reading through these now - was Omega Red really a child molestor? I didn't know that. Damn, that's hard hitting for a comic book villain. So we don't know who number 1 is yet - place your bets who it'll be. My favourite villain is Doctor Doom, but I don't think he'll win, although if it's Lex fucking Luthor I officially riot. Joker, perhaps? I could dig that. I love Doctor Doom. I remember reading a really smart article on the character, saying that he technically hasn't committed any crime by ruling Latveria. Apparantly there IS no low about being a tyrant. But there's been issues that have given the character a real depth, like the time Doom "dies" and the villagers want to kill the FF because they grew to love and admire their ruler. Or the time he tried to get into America and set off the metal detector... I've always LOVED the whole untouchable super villain in a castle, towering over the village idea. Like Dracula, but, you know, metal.  Now THAT is a bad-ass. |

Indeed. Doom will make top 5, but the smart money for numero uno is on Joker. Bat-villains are dominating the list big-time as it is.

When I started going through the top 10, I thought if it wasn't the Joker, Lex or Doom, it really HAD to be Magneto. A multi-layered, intelligent, ruthless villain (remember when he ripped the adamantium from Wolverine? Ooooh, so COLD) who's entire character is based on hatred of an entire race, much like his own upbringing.
Yeah, I'm happy enough with that. Doom still rules, though.

Gaaaah, you know, I promised myself I wouldn't do this, but how the FUCK does Doctor Octopus get relegated to the twenties? Doc Ock is one of THE finest villains in comic book history. This is a guy who not only fights Spidey to a stand-still every time, but also almost married Aunt May and even saved Spidey's life from the Vulture one time (a fantastic story, that one).
And yet he gets beaten by Captain motherfucking COLD? Whoever wrote this can, in Trashy's immortal words, eat a dick.

Magneto is top 5 for sure, but nobody beats Joker in my world, even before "The Dark Knight" came out.
