Wow. For the record, people, The Curmudgeon feeds and grows stronger as your hate and anger are absorbed through the internet directly into his ego. But goddamn is it entertaining to watch you folks try. My favorite had to be the backward spastic who said Curmudgeon is a shallow celebrity-worshiper. In psychology, this is what they call projection, or taking a trait in yourself and judging others as having that trait whether they do or not. If it was about being famous, he'd be on the same bandwagon as y'all. And you will all be over this "greatest album ever" in months and glomming onto whatever "music" you can find being featured on television. Because everything great and creative in the music world only counts if it's on tv. And you wonder why this dude refers to you as "The Scum". And personally, a great voice is waaaaay overrated. Any retard can sing. i want people who can play, write, and CREATE. I'll take Bob Mould, Dylan, Lemmy, Mike Ness, and any other butt-ugly dude with no singing voice to speak of over any of this vapid reality television garbage that serves only to recycle other people's works for profit. Bowie and Prince are respected by everyone in the entire music business. To not see that means you're a blinkered FOOL. Prince is in the rock and roll hall of fame, Bowie was voted THE most influential musician of ALL TIME. And if that's not enough for your feeble, "if it's not on mainstream TV it doesn't count" mind, even Cowell had a Prince night on American Idol. So admired and respected by everyone, including the "genius" that has created this wretched album we're all talking about.
And do you honestly, seriously, think you're "holding your own" against me? You've made yourself look like a complete idiot - a bigoted, narrow minded CHILD with no clear view on anything important. Disagree with me all you like, but to even ATTEMPT to label sensible, passionate and knowledgable music fans of REAL talent, not just a "nice voice", as "druggies" shows you up as every ignorant housewife stereotype you can think of.
It's funny how I was the villain in all of this to begin with, don't you think? Roles have sorta reversed now. The Curmudgeon - intelligent, knowledgable lover of music vs Mercier - ignorant bigot who wouldn't know music if it fell on her.

I have seen post-"I Dreamed a Dream" performances that disappointed me, but I really am upset by the personal attack that you have made on this person. I agree that, while at times the voice sounds magnificent, there are others where it is good, at best. I found your diatribe terribly personal and nasty. Because of that I'm going to buy the CD - be it to enrich Susan Boyle, Simon, whomever - just to spite your nasty ass. You really need to get a life beyond being a nasty old fart. All I can say that a million electrons were inconvenienced in your e-mail with absolutely no idea of what you were talking about!
I agree the CD samples I listened to do not really reflect her performance on BGT and whoever her agent is should look for another job, but she does have a great voice and she will come out on top. The question is what took so long to come out with the album and let's speed it up a bit.
